Kunsthaus Graz

My love letter to Graz continues with these pictures of the modern and contemporary art museum, the Kunsthaus, designed by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier. It is located on the limits of the city’s historical center, next to the river Mur. Needless to say, it contrasts with every building that surrounds it, but that’s what makes it a reference point. In any case it was for me since I was staying in an apartment close to it, so I orientated myself according to it.

Graz 2015

Some weeks ago I had the rare privilege of going to Graz to consult some archives for my thesis. I say rare privilege because never in my life I would have imagined I would go to this city. When you think of Austria you automatically think of Vienna, eventually Salzburg, Innsbruck, but not so much Graz. That is one of the reasons why architect Gustav Peichl called it “architecture’s secret capital”.
